At approximately 21:31hrs, December 23rd members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to a business on the 2100 block of 11th Ave. A staff member of that business was leaving for the night and was approached by a male suspect. The male pointed a handgun at the staff member then fired two rounds in the air. The suspect left walking east on 11th Ave. Several units were dispatched. A short time later a suspect matching the description provided by the victim was located walking east on South Railway at Osler Street. The male suspect was detained and on his person was located an imitation firearm.
Thirty year old Lance Wade KAKAKAWAY was charged with the following offences:
- Assault with a weapon contrary [267(a) CC];
- Possession of a weapon [88 CC];
- Carry a concealed weapon [90 CC]; and
- Use of imitation firearm [852 (a) CC].
KAKAKAWAY will appear on February 1st 2018 at 9:30 am at Provincial Court to answer to the above charges.
