Two Regina males are facing charges in connection with a break and enter and assault incident on the weekend.
On Saturday, January 20, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Ottawa Street for the report of a break and enter in progress.
Two males, armed with blunt weapons, entered a residence without permission, on the 2000 block of Ottawa Street and confronted a 20 year-old male. One of the intruders then assaulted the 20 year-old male, and a struggle ensued. Other residents in the home assisted the 20 year-old male in attempts to keep the two males out of house, and a physical altercation ensued.
Police arrived and the combatants were separated. EMS was called for the intruders, where they were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the fight. After treatment the males were arrested and charged.
Twenty-eight year-old Brendan Lee ACOOSE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break and enter and commit [CC 348(1)(B)].
Twenty-four year-old Riley Scott ACOOSE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break and enter and commit [CC 348(1)(B)]; and
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon [CC 91(2)].
Both charged made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, January 22, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.
