On May 25, 2018, shortly after 10:30 pm, police located a stolen truck in the area of 3rd Avenue and Albert Street. At approximately 10:42 pm, police observed the truck stop on the 1400 block of Robinson Street, where the five occupants fled on foot. Three of them: a 32 year-old female, a 29 year-old female, and a 25 year-old male, were apprehended nearby, and arrested for the stolen automobile. It was determined that the 32 year-old female had lied to police about her name, and that she was the subject of existing warrants, and she was subsequently charged with obstruction.
A canine track led to the fourth suspect, a 29 year-old male. Contact was made by the canine to apprehend the male, who was arrested by police. EMS was called to attend to the male, who was transported to hospital for further treatment. Existing warrants for arrest were executed on the male, and he was also charged for the stolen automobile.
Shortly thereafter, the fifth suspect, a nineteen year-old male, was apprehended by police. A search of a backpack, dropped by the male and seized by police, revealed a machete. Existing warrants were executed on the male, who was also charged for the stolen automobile.
Thirty-two year-old Jodi-Lynn MYO, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Obstruct Peace Officer [CC 129(A)].
Twenty-nine year-old Jeannette Mavis KAKAKAWAY, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)].
Twenty-five year-old Warren Robert Alvin KAKAKAWAY, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
Twenty-nine year-old Lance PAQUACHAN, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [CC 145(5.1)].
Nineteen year-old Derick Bob Alvin KAKAKAWAY, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)];
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)]; and
- Fail to comply with undertaking [CC 145(3)].
All five made their first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on Monday, May 28, 2018, at 9:30 am.
