On May 18, 2018 at approximately 11:05 a.m. police were notified of a suspicious vehicle. Police made an attempt to conduct a traffic stop at Lorne Street and 8th Avenue however the vehicle evaded police and fled at a high rate of speed.
Shortly thereafter, the suspect vehicle was observed abandoned in the 1000 block of Garnet Street and the three occupants fled on foot. Police were able to apprehend all three occupants from the suspect vehicle in the 1200 block of Cameron Street.
Thirty-three year-old Jason Robert SCANTLEBURY, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [CC 355(b)];
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1(1)];
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle [CC 249 (1)(a)]
- Driving While Disqualified [CC 259(4)]; and
- Possession of Automobile Master Key X 2 [CC 353(1)(b)].
Twenty-nine year-old Dustin Grant Richard SINKEWITZ, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [CC 355(b)]; and
- Forgery [CC 367]
Twenty-seven year-old Mercedes Ashton Andrea KITZ, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [CC 355(b)].
The three charged make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on June 18, 2018 at 9:30 am.
