A 26 year-old male is facing a charge of Second Degree Murder in connection with the death of an adult male, whose body was found in a house in the 1100 block of Retallack Street just after 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. The 26 year-old accused and a 33 year-old male also face firearms charges in connection with the same event. These charges are the result of investigation by the Regina Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner. This is the 4th homicide of 2018 in Regina.
At approximately 1:13 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, police patrol members were dispatched to a house in the 1100 block of Retallack Street, where they located an adult male, who was confirmed deceased by EMS. Several other police units were dispatched to that address; they secured the scene and the Coroner was requested to attend. The case became a homicide investigation and led to the arrest of two males, who were subsequently charged. The deceased person is a 35 year-old Regina male; however the Regina Police Service will not be releasing his name at this time.
Twenty-six year-old Brent Stacee CREELY, of Regina, is facing a charge of Second Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. CREELY is also charged with Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC].
Thirty-three year-old Richard William SNYDER, of Regina, is facing a charge of Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC].
Both accused will make their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018.
The Regina Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner will continue this investigation.
