The Regina Police Service is asking for any information the public may offer in an investigation into a home invasion, which occurred over the weekend.
Police were dispatched at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, to a house in the 700 block of Elphinstone Street for a report of a home invasion (break & enter and commit robbery). The victim reported that the event had occurred about one hour earlier. The 43 year-old male victim had injuries consistent with a physical altercation; he indicated three males had broken into his residence, and assaulted and robbed him before leaving. The victim reported that the males had a firearm, a bat and bear spray. After the suspects left, the victim went to a neighbour’s to report the incident. He then went to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
There is little information to describe the suspects, except that they were all male and all appeared to be in their mid-20’s, though they had their faces covered. Based on the information available to police at this time, it does not appear to have been a random event.
This incident is still under investigation. Anyone who has information that could help police solve this crime is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
