Police have charged a 59 year-old male following a lengthy investigation into a 2017 allegation of sexual assault, involving a then-13 year-old female.
It is not possible to give detailed information about this case without risking identifying the victim; therefore, the chronology will be brief. On September 17, 2017, the Regina Police Service received a report which alleged a 13 year-old female was administered a drug, and then sexually assaulted by an adult male, the day before (September 16, 2017) at a Regina residence. The victim did not know the name of the suspect. This case involved law enforcement support services outside of RPS, which added to the length of the investigation. Upon identification of a viable suspect, additional supporting evidence was obtained by investigators and on July 12, 2018, a 59 year-old male was arrested and charged.
Fifty-nine year-old Sheldon Dennis Joseph SCHULER, of Regina is charged with:
- Sexual Assault [271 CC];
- Sexual Interference [151 CC]; and
- Forcible Confinement [279(2) CC].
SCHULER will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018.
