The Regina Police Service is requesting assistance from the public in its investigation into an assault causing bodily harm, which occurred in the early morning hours of July 8, 2018. This assault resulted in stab wounds to a 49 year-old male.
Police were dispatched at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018, for a report of a male who’d been stabbed. The 49 year-old male had come into the hospital emergency unit with injuries consistent with having been assaulted with some sort of bladed weapon. Preliminary investigation indicates this assault occurred at a campground east of the city. The male victim had been visiting with a friend at one of the campsites and was making his way back to another campsite. As he was walking, the victim was struck on the head by an unknown person or persons, who attempted to rob him of his wallet. The victim sustained injuries, consistent with stab wounds, described as non-life-threatening. He was taken to hospital by friends. The victim was not able to describe his assailants. Police investigation has, so far, not identified potential suspects.
