The Regina Police Service is asking for any information from the public that could help an investigation into a robbery which occurred in the 2300 block of Dewdney Avenue in the early-morning hours of Saturday, July 28, 2018.
Police officers were dispatched, at about 5:07 a.m., July 28th to the residence of the victim, a 32 year-old male. The victim reported that, earlier that morning, he was walking from a night club to his vehicle, when he was assaulted by a group of suspects who stole his wallet, keys, phone and shirt. The truck had been parked in an alley behind the club. Officers were able to establish that the vehicle had not been towed. The victim appeared to have sustained injuries consistent with a physical assault, but he did not require EMS. The victim was not able to provide descriptions of his assailants.
The stolen vehicle was recovered, damaged, later that same morning in the 1400 block of Argyle Street; it’s believed to have been involved in a hit and run, sometime the night of July 27/28, in the 1500 block of Garnet Street. In that incident, an unoccupied vehicle, parked overnight on the block was struck by a vehicle which left the scene. Fragments of the suspect vehicle were left behind in the collision, which match the aforementioned stolen truck.
Anyone who may have information about either of these incidents is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
