Three adult males are charged after a SWAT Call on Friday in Regina.
On July 20, 2018, members of the Regina Police Service executed a search warrant on a residence on the 1000 block of Wascana Street, as part of an investigation into possession of weapons and trafficking of drugs. Due to the nature of the call (potential weapons) authorization was obtained for a Special Teams call-out which involved members from the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Unit, plain clothes officers, and patrol members. Three people, a fifty-nine year-old male, a forty-two year-old male and a 37 year-old male exited the residence without incident and were taken into custody.
A search revealed a semi-automatic rifle, various types of ammunition.
Fifty-nine year-old David Eric BALDWIN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Fail to comply with probation order [733.1(1) CC].
Forty-two year-old Sheldon ROSEBLUFF, of Regina, is charged with:
- Fail to comply with probation order [733.1(1) CC].
Thirty-seven year-old Brendan Irvine STARR, of Regina, is charged with:
- Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [86(1) CC];
- Possession of a Weapon [88 CC];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC]; and
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, [91(2) CC];
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (sawed-off rifle) obtained by Commission of an Offence, s. [96(1) CC];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (Ritalin) [CDSA 4(1)]; and
- Possession of a scheduled substance (gabapentin) [CDSA 4(1)].
BALDWIN, ROSEBLUFF and STARR are scheduled to make their first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 9:30 am.
