A seventeen year-old female and a sixteen year-old male are facing attempt murder charges as the result of an incident involving a 16 year-old female victim.
On September 24, 2018, at approximately 11:31 a.m. police observed an injured female youth in distress in the 3300 block of 6th Avenue. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS.
It is alleged the 16 year-old female victim got into a vehicle driven by a 16 year-old male unaware that a 17 year-old female was in the back seat behind her. It’s alleged the victim was restrained and assaulted with a knife. The victim was able to free herself from the vehicle. Investigation led to a residence on the 0-99 block of Stewart Avenue, where the 17 year-old female and 16 year-old male were arrested.
A 17 year-old female youth, and a sixteen year-old male youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been jointly charged with attempt murder [CC 239]; and forcible confinement [CC 279(2)]. In addition, the female has been charged with uttering threats [CC 264.1(1)(A)].
Both charged made their first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on these charges Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
