A 22 year-old male is facing charges in connection with an incident the night of October 30-31, 2018, at the University of Regina’s Education Auditorium. The event was investigated as an incident of Mischief Over $5,000 after a suspect broke into the auditorium and damaged several items of equipment and attempted to start a fire.
A viable suspect was identified through investigation by the Regina Police Service University Liaison Officer, working in conjunction with U-of-R Campus Security. On November 5, 2018, police located and arrested a 22 year old male in connection with this incident. The damage estimate is in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Twenty-two year-old Jeffrey Allan SCHUETT, of Regina, is charged with Arson with Disregard for Human Life [433(a) CC] and Mischief over $5,000 [430 (1)(a) CC]. SCHUETT made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
