On Sunday, November 11, 2018, police were dispatched to the area of Rochdale Boulevard for the report of a stolen vehicle. An off duty member had observed a vehicle, recently reported as stolen, parked on the 6100 block of Rochdale Avenue with two occupants, a male and female.
Police arrived, and both the male and female were arrested for stolen vehicle possession. A search revealed a significant amount of stolen property in relation to two break and enters, both of which occurred in the early morning hours of November 9, 2018, on Marigold Drive. Additionally, a substance believed to be fentanyl was found in the possession of the female.
Thirty-seven year-old Mark Timothy POPOWICH, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Break and Enter and Commit [CC 348(1)(B)];
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)] ; and
- 2 X Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)].
Thirty-six year-old Crystal Ann TUMAK, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Break and Enter and Commit [CC 348(1)(B)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (fentanyl) [CDSA 4(1)];
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)].
POPOWICH and TUMAK made their first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on November 13, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
