A thirty-three year-old male faces drug and weapon charges after a warrant execution that occurred on Thursday, November 22, 2018, as the result of investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit.
On Thursday, November 22, 2018, police observed a 33 year-old male in a stolen vehicle. Police arrested the male, and seized the vehicle. A search revealed a large amount of currency and a substance believed to be methamphetamine. In relation to this arrest, police also executed a search warrant at a residence on the 1600 block of Athol Street, where drug paraphernalia, a large amount of currency, and firearm ammunition was seized.
Thirty-three year-old Billy Joe SAMMY of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime [CC 355(B)];
- 2 X Possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01]; and
- Fail to comply [CC 145(3)].
SAMMY made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, November, 23, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.
