A 46 year-old male is facing a single charge of Arson in connection with a house fire, at a home in the 700 block of Cameron Street, on December 3, 2018.
This incident was the subject of an earlier news release, which indicated officers were assisting the occupants of the house, when an aggressive dog prevented the officers from helping an injured male. One officer fired his sidearm, striking the animal and causing it to retreat, so the officers could render assistance to the injured male, who had come from the house. Through investigation into this incident, police gathered evidence to indicate the fire was deliberately set. Further investigation led to an arson charge against a 46 year old male, who was associated to one of the residents of that house.
Forty-six year-old Jason ALEXSON is charged with Arson with Disregard for Human Life, contrary to section 433(a) of the Criminal Code. ALEXSON was released on an Officer Undertaking and will make his first court appearance in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on January 31, 2019.
