The Regina Police Service is asking the public’s assistance in offering any information that could help solve the theft of a Canada Post van, which occurred on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at about 5:40 a.m.
Police received the information early Wednesday morning that a van, belonging to Canada Post, was stolen by an unknown suspect or suspects from a parking lot near the main Post Office on Saskatchewan Drive. The vehicle was being loaded with items at the time of the theft, and the driver was in the back of the van, but was thrown from the vehicle as the suspect drove away. It does not appear the Canada Post driver was injured. At approximately 7:23 a.m., the Communications Centre received word from White Butte RCMP that the van had been recovered and a male suspect had been arrested for possession of the stolen vehicle. Regina Police Service Street Crimes is continuing the investigation into the theft of the van, which includes a search for any video and/or witnesses.
Anyone who may have information that could assist in this investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
