Police have confirmed that a deceased male, whose body was discovered on December 21, 2018 in the area of the 5000 block of Sherwood Drive, is 19 year-old Promise (Max) CHUKWUDUM, the subject of previous missing person’s reports. It was not possible until today to make public confirmation of the identity of the deceased in order to allow time for notification to his immediate family.
In the initial dispatch: at approximately 4:45 p.m., on Friday, December 21, 2018, police were sent to the area of the 5000 block of Sherwood Drive for a report of a male who appeared to be deceased. Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units, as well as the Coroner.
The Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are conducting a death investigation to more fully understand the circumstances of this death. There are still investigative tasks to be carried out in this case, some of which will take months to complete. However, at this stage in the investigation, there is no indication that this person’s death is the result of criminal action.
