Just after 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, the Regina Police Service started getting reports about threatening messages received by six daycare centres in the city. These messages appear to have been sent by the same sender using the same medium. At this time, police do not have any credible indication of a real threat, but as a precaution operators of these businesses are being extra vigilant in following their safety protocols. Regina Police members have been dispatched to each location and are coordinating their investigative efforts.
Parents are being asked to be patient as they pick up their children. Please follow the safety protocols of your daycare provider. Anyone with information to assist in the investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
