On January 25, 2019, at approximately 2:50 pm, police received a report of a stolen vehicle. A thief or thieves had smashed a window to gain entry to a locked vehicle containing a large amount of currency and spare keys inside.
Police located the recently reported stolen vehicle driving at dangerously excessive speeds. The vehicle stopped at a gas station on the 4600 block of Albert Street, where the driver, a 19 year-old male, got out of the vehicle and entered the store. Police arrested the driver in the store. The passenger of the vehicle, an 18 year-old female, was also arrested.
Police located a firearm in the vehicle. A search of the female passenger was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Nineteen year-old Joseph George GORDON-DESNOMIE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Theft of motor vehicle [CC 333.1(1)];
- Possession of stolen property over $5000 [CC 355(A)];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle [CC 94(1)];
- Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle [CC 320.13(10]; and
- Fail to comply [YCJA 137].
Eighteen year-old Savannah Cree LITTLETENT, of Regina, is charged with:
- Theft of motor vehicle [CC 333.1(1)];
- Possession of stolen property over $5000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)].
GORDON-DESNOMIE made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, January 28, 2019, at 9:30 am. LITTLETENT is scheduled to make her first appearance in Provincial Court on March 4, 2019, at 9:30 am.
