There is now a third person charged in connection with the murder of a 21 year-old Regina male, who died in hospital on October 24, 2018. Two people have already been charged in connection with the sixth homicide in Regina in 2018: a 22 year-old male and an 18 year-old female.
This investigation began on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, just after 10:30 p.m., when police were dispatched to an incident in the 2800 block of Sinton Avenue, involving an injured 21 year-old male. EMS transported the injured male to hospital, where he passed away on the morning of October 24, 2018. The victim is 21 year-old Miguel Lucas Antoan LANE, of Regina. The homicide investigation, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, led to a charge of Second Degree Murder [CC 235(1)] against 22 year-old Austin Thomas YATES, of Regina, who made his first court appearance on October 26, 2018. The second person charged, 18 year-old Desiree MORIN-JIM, was arrested on January 18, 2019 and made her first appearance in Provincial Court on Monday, January 21, 2019.
The third person, arrested on January 21, 2019, and charged in this case, is 27 year-old Kayle David GEORGE, of Regina. GEORGE is charged with Second-Degree Murder, section 235(1) of the Criminal Code. GEORGE made his first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
Police are continuing their work, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, to fully investigate and clarify the circumstances surrounding this death.
