On Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at approximately 6:15 pm, police were dispatched to the 1700 block Toronto Street for the report of a robbery. Information received was that a taxi cab driver had driven two teenage females to the address on 1700 block Toronto, where the females sprayed him in the face with spray-paint and fled. Police arrived and learned that the driver’s phone was also taken in the incident. Police located the females at a nearby residence, who were arrested and charged. The stolen phone was recovered.
Two females, ages 15 and 16, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have all been jointly charged with Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)].
The 15 year-old Pilot Butte female is also charged with two counts of failure to comply [YCJA 137].
The 16 year-old Regina female is also charged with failure to comply [YCJA 137].
Both charged made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court this morning, Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 9:30 am.
