The Regina Police Service has charged a second person with Attempted Murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred last weekend in east Regina. That incident sent two adult males to hospital with apparent gunshot wounds.
This investigation began when police were dispatched at 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019, to the 1900 block of Fleet Street for a report of two victims who had sustained injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victims to hospital for treatment. Through investigation, police learned the shooting had taken place in the area of the 400 block of Fines Drive. They secured the area and requested Major Crimes, Forensic Identification and other resources for the investigation. Continued investigation into this incident led to the arrest, the evening of Wednesday, April 24, 2019, of a 44 year-old male suspect. A 37 year-old male, who was also identified as a suspect in this case, was arrested and charged earlier the same day.
Forty-four year-old Christopher Leigh ANDERSON, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm [239(1)(A.1) CC]; and
- Arson Causing Damage to Property [434 CC].
ANDERSON made his first court appearance on these three charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today: Friday, April 26, 2019.
