The Regina Police Service initiated these investigations as the result of RPS internal processes which identified two incidents of alleged assault, which occurred on September 26th and 27th of 2018. These alleged assaults occurred in the detention area of the Regina Police Service. One involved an adult male victim; the other was a male youth. The Regina Police Service notified the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) when these incidents were identified and, as a result of the PCC investigation, 46 year-old Colin Bradley MAGEE, of Regina, is charged with two charges of Common Assault [266(a) CC]. Notification of this development has been made to the two victims. MAGEE will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on May 27, 2019.
There is also a corresponding internal process, as per The Police Act, 1990. Corporal Magee has been reassigned to administrative duties, pending the outcome of the criminal process. These administrative duties do not involve contact with members of the public.
