The Regina Police Service is investigating an apparent shooting that occurred overnight and is asking the public for any information that may help solve the case.
At approximately 12:11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, police were dispatched to the area of Dewdney Avenue and Garnet Street for what was initially reported as an incident of aggressive driving and a possible discharge of a firearm. Police and EMS attended to the area and located a 29 year-old female who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The woman was in her vehicle and indicated she’d been chased by another vehicle. While witnesses assisted the victim, the suspect vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. EMS transported the victim to hospital for treatment of injuries described as serious. Police learned this altercation may have started in the 1400 block of Edward Street. It‘s believed the victim fled in her vehicle and was pursued by the suspect vehicle. It is not known if the victim and suspect (or suspects) know each other. Investigation is underway.
