A 39 year-old male was arrested and charged after a police operation in the 600 block of Montague Street overnight. The arrest came as the result of a police investigation involving patrol officers, criminal investigation detectives, canine members, crisis negotiators and members of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team. The arrest was made without injury to the suspect, members of the public, or police.
On the evening of May 16, 2019, police observed a male known to be the subject of warrants for arrest in the 600 block of Montague Street. Emergency services teams were called out and, after hours of negotiation, at approximately 1:00 a.m. on May 17th, the 39 year-old suspect exited a house and was taken into custody without incident.
In addition to the outstanding warrants, 39 year-old Ramie Louis BELLEGARDE of the Balcarres area, is charged with four charges of Breach of Undertaking: 4 X section 145(3) CC. BELLEGARDE will make his court appearance on the warrants and the new breach charges at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019.
