A 54 year-old male determined to be at a high risk to reoffend sexually, has been arrested by the Regina Police Service, for breaches of court ordered conditions to keep the peace, not to attend a public park or swimming area where children are present, and not to possess a device to access the internet.
On the morning of June 19, 2019, police observed the 54 year-old male walking in Wascana Park, where children were present, which was a breach of his conditions. A follow-up search of the male’s residence, as per his recognizance, revealed the male to be in possession of a cell phone at the time, which was also in breach of his conditions. The male was arrested by a Regina Police Service officer at approximately 2:40 p.m. on June 19 on the 2600 block of 12th Avenue.
Fifty-four year-old Byron Douglas HARPOLD, of Regina, is currently charged with two (2) charges of breach of recognizance under section 810 [CC 811] and with failure to comply with prohibition regarding children [CC 161(4)]
HARPOLD made his first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on June 20, 2019.
