A 24 year-old Regina male is facing stolen auto charges after an incident on June 14, 2019.
At approximately 6:00 p.m. on June 14, 2019, police located a vehicle in the area of Dewdney Avenue and Broad Street that had been reported stolen. Police followed the vehicle to the area of Ingersoll Crescent and Coventry Road, where the driver abandoned the vehicle.
Police, including a member of the canine unit, conducted a search of the area for the suspect. The suspect was located, on foot, on Cecil Crescent. The suspect did not obey police commands to stop, so the canine team pursued him. In the course of being apprehended, the suspect was bitten by a police dog. The male was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect was later transported to police detention centre. Further investigation linked this same suspect to the theft of another vehicle on May 21, 2019. The suspect was subsequently charged in connection with both incidents.
Twenty-four year old Breland Emile LOUISON of Regina is charged with:
- 2 x Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 [355(a) CC];
- Theft of motor vehicle [333.1(1) CC]; and,
- 2 x Fail to comply with probation [733.1(1) CC].
