On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at approximately 9:25 p.m, police were dispatched to a store parking lot on the 4400 block of Rochdale Boulevard for the report of a firearms offence. Police arrived, and investigation determined that two suspects robbed and assaulted a male victim, and as two people came to assist the victim, one of the two suspects pointed a gun at the two before fleeing. Further investigation led to a seventeen year-old male, who was arrested on July 29, 2019.
A seventeen year-old youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- 2 X Pointing a firearm [CC 87]; and
- Armed robbery using a firearm [CC 344(1)(A.1)].
The youth made his first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on these charges on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
