Three males are facing charges after two incidents alleged to have occurred over the weekend on the University of Regina campus, in the 3700 block of Wascana Parkway. All three males are temporary residents at the University of Regina, being among the evacuees to Regina from Northern Ontario.
In the first incident, at approximately 7:15 p.m. on July 12th, police were dispatched to 3737 Wascana Parkway for a report of a fight that occurred in one of the residence towers. The victim, a 24 year-old male was assisted by EMS. Investigation led to identification of two males alleged to have committed the assault on the victim. The males were taken into custody without further incident and subsequently charged.
Nineteen year-old Edward Dawson Wade KEEPER and 22 year-old Darian MOOSE are charged with assault Causing Bodily Harm [267(b) CC]. KEEPER is also charged with a Breach of Recognizance [811 CC]. KEEPER and MOOSE made their court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, July 15, 2019.
In the second incident, on July 13th at approximately 4:09 a.m., Campus Security on rounds in one of the residence buildings was alerted to the sound of an altercation in one of the rooms. Police attended to assist and upon entering, located a 28 year-old female who had sustained serious injuries consistent with a physical altercation. Investigation led to the arrest of a 29 year-old male in the same living quarters.
A 29 year-old male is charged with Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC] and Disobeying Court Order [127 CC]. The name of the accused will not be released by the Regina Police Service at this time because this is a domestic-related assault and naming the accused could serve to identify the victim of this aggravated assault. The accused made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, July 15, 2019.
