As the result of continued investigation into a violent incident on May 17, 2019, a 23 year-old Regina male is now facing a charge of Attempted Murder.
This investigation began when police were dispatched at about 3:08 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, to an apartment residence in the 1200 block of Rae Street. The caller stated a male at that location had been stabbed several times. Police went to the apartment building and located the 31 year-old victim, who was taken to hospital by EMS. Shortly after, officers located a Honda Odyssey that matched the description of a suspect vehicle that had left the scene, but it was moving at a high speed and could not be safely stopped. The investigation into this event revealed evidence of the involvement of more than one person. Investigators continued to work on this case, charging two individuals in June and July, and then arresting and charging a third suspect on August 20, 2019.
The individuals charged in this case are:
- Twenty-three year-old Calvin Roy SPARVIER, of Regina, who was arrested from a closed-custody facility on August 20, 2019. SPARVIER is charged with Attempted Murder [239 CC]; and two charges of Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].

MUNRO appeared in Provincial Court on these charges, July 4, 2019.
