Residential Break and Enter incidents continue to be a concern for Regina residents and police. Two males have been charged in connection with two recent cases of Break and Enter.
On August 22, 2019, there was a break and enter to residence on Church Drive. The resident was not home at the time and entry was gained when the suspect(s) kicked in the front door. Several items were taken including a television and power tools. Police were able to obtain a description of a possible suspect vehicle. Investigation led to a residence in the 1200 block of Aberdeen Street, where police executed a search warrant. One male was arrested at this location. Searches warrants were also executed at residences in the 200 block of Angus Street and Carter Crescent. Items from the Church Street Break and Enter were recovered as well as property taken in a residential Break and Enter on August 23rd at Metcalfe Road. A second suspect was arrested at the Carter Crescent location.
Thirty-five year-old Matthew Derrick KAISWATUM, of Regina, is charged with;
- 2 x Break, Enter & Commit Theft [348(1)(b) CC];
- 2 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and
- 2 x Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
KAISWATUM made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019.
Thirty-seven year-old Ernest Ray OOCHOO, of Regina is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]. OOCHOO was released on an undertaking to be in court on October 2, 2019.
