Six people (five males and one female), are facing charges under the Saskatchewan Cannabis Control Act as a result of enforcement by Regina Police Service officers and members of Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN), on Monday September 23, 2019.
This enforcement activity was in relation to unlicensed cannabis dispensaries operating in the city of Regina. Police located and seized illicit cannabis, cannabis products (such as oil, candy, cream, edibles), along with cash and documents related to the sale of illicit cannabis. Dispensary owners and employees were charged and fined for unlawfully committing offences under the Saskatchewan Cannabis Control Act.
The locations and charges area as follows:
2400 block Dewdney – female charged – Possession of Illicit Cannabis.
2800 block Saskatchewan Drive – two males charged – Possess more than 30 grams; Distribute Illicit Cannabis; Possession of Illicit Cannabis.
1500-11th Avenue – male charged – Possession of Illicit Cannabis.
1400 block Scarth Street – two males charged: one with Possession of Illicit Cannabis; the other with Possess more than 30 grams; Distribute Illicit Cannabis; Possession of Illicit Cannabis.
On matters that will go to court, the court date will be December 16, 2019.
