The Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) completed an investigation and enforcement action on Friday, November 1, 2019, into illegal drug trafficking within the City of Regina. A 29 year-old male is facing drug trafficking charges as a result.
CDSA search warrants were executed on Haughton Road and the 3900 block of 7th Avenue East. As a result of the enforcement action, a large quantity of controlled substances and currency were seized along with other evidentiary items to corroborate drug trafficking. The volume of the substances was significant with approximately 8.5 kilograms being seized. The Drug Unit seized (rounded off) 6,677 grams of methamphetamine, 1,600 grams of cocaine and 177 grams of fentanyl. In addition, $59,920.00 in Canadian Currency and 514 grams of an unidentified powder was seized. The unidentified powder will require analysis for identification through Health Canada.
At the completion of the enforcement action:
Twenty-nine year-old 29 year-old Shah Noor KAHN was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5000 [355(a) CC];
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine [5(2) CDSA];
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine [5(2) CDSA]; and
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl [5(2) CDSA].
KAHN made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019, and was remanded into custody.
