On Wednesday, November 27th, 2019, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit along with members of the Community Service Division conducted an investigation in regards to several firearm related offences. A search warrant was executed in the 200 block of Broad Street, which resulted in the discovery of a number of firearms along with an undisclosed amount of illicit drugs. Two adult males were arrested and taken into custody.
Twenty three year-old Tyson Dylan RAY and 18 year-old Rueban Jacob NAHBEXIE were both charged with the following offences:
- 5 X Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- 6 X Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose [CC 88];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon [CC 91 (2)];
- 6 X Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 92 (1)];
- 5 X Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(a)];
- 3 X Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence [CC 96 (1)];
- 12 X Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1)];
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking [CC 145 (3)]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance [CDSA 4(1)].
A 17 year old male youth, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was also arrested and charged with the following:
- 5 X Careless Storage of a Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- 6 X Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose [CC 88];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon [CC 91 (2)];
- 5 X Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 92 (1)];
- 5 X Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(a)]; and
- 3 X Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence [CC 96(1)].
All three accused are scheduled to make their first court appearance at Regina Provincial Court on November 28th, 2019, at 9:30am.
