The 54 year-old driver of a vehicle involved in a non-fatal pedestrian collision on Saturday night has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act. The TSA ticket is under section 223(2) Pass Vehicle Stopped for Pedestrian.
This collision occurred on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at about 8:36 p.m., in the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Embury Street. A 51 year-old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life-threatening. The preliminary investigation indicated the pedestrian was walking southbound across Victoria Avenue, at Embury Street. A vehicle in the left eastbound lane of Victoria Avenue stopped for the pedestrian. A vehicle in the right eastbound lane of Victoria Avenue did not stop and struck the pedestrian. The 54 year-old driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene. Traffic was diverted until investigators had completed their tasks at the scene.
