On December 22, 2019, at around 3:20 p.m., police attempted to pull over a vehicle in the 1700 block of Elphinstone Street. The vehicle evaded police, drove into oncoming traffic, and police disengaged.
A short while later, police were dispatched to a hit and run, involving the same vehicle, that occurred at the intersection of Lewvan Drive and Dewdney Avenue. Minor damage to two vehicles was reported. No injuries were sustained. The suspect vehicle continued travelling southbound on Lewvan Drive and collided with a third vehicle at the intersection of Lewvan Drive and Gordon Road. At that point, the driver of the suspect vehicle fled on foot and was apprehended by police.
Twenty six year-old David GALECKI of Regina was charged with:
- 3 X Failure to Stop After Accident [CC 320.16(1)];
- Impaired Operation of a Vehicle [CC 320.14(1)(a); and,
- Exceeds 80 MG of Alcohol Within Two Hours of Operating Vehicle [CC 320.14(1)(b)].
GALECKI will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on January 7th, 2020 at 9:30 A.M.
