A 40 year-old Regina male is facing 3 charges as a result of an incident last night involving the possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen license plate, and the kidnapping of a female victim.
On Friday December 27, 2019, at approximately 7:25 p.m., police members of the Criminal Investigation Division observed a stolen vehicle driving in the area of McIntosh Street and Litzenberger Crescent. The license plate on the vehicle did not match and had also been reported stolen. The stolen vehicle eventually parked in the 6000 block of Rochdale Boulevard. The male driver and lone occupant exited the vehicle. Police approached the suspect and attempted to make an arrest when the suspect fled on foot. The suspect ran to the intersection of Rochdale Boulevard and McCarthy Boulevard where he got into the passenger side of a vehicle which was stopped at a red light. Against her will, the female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was forced to drive the suspect. The vehicle stopped in the area of 5th Avenue and Retallack Street, at which time the suspect exited the passenger side. With the assistance of a Canine Unit, the suspect was taken into custody. The male suspect was identified as Larry OLSON.
The victim was not physically injured as a result of this incident.
