On December 21, 2019, on the 2000 block of Winnipeg Street, police observed two males exiting a vehicle that was recently reported as stolen. Police arrested both males for possession of a stolen automobile. A search revealed firearm ammunition, a knife, machete, bear spray, substances believed to be methamphetamine and amphetamine, as well as wallets, personal cheques, and identification not belonging to either male. The two were subsequently charged.
Thirty-five year-old Mark Allen Richard MORRISON, and thirty-four year-old Brent Logan QUEWEZANCE, both of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- 2 X Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
MORRISON is also charged with:
- 2 X Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
- 1 X Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (amphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)];
- Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized [CC 92(2)];
- Identity fraud: possession of identity document [CC 56.1(1)]; and
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90].
QUEWEZANCE is also charged with:
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)]; and
- Fail to comply with undertaking [CC 145(4)(A)].
Both accused made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court, today, December 23, 2019.
