A 22 year-old male is facing a string of charges after an incident over the weekend.
On Sunday, January 12, 2020 at approximately 10:00 p.m., a female entered her residence on the 1500 block of Princess Street to find a male inside her home. An altercation ensued and the suspect male is alleged to have physically prevented the female from leaving the home. The suspect and victim are known to each other.
The female was eventually able to escape the residence and called 911. As the female waited for police, she observed her vehicle traveling away from the area.
Investigation lead to the vehicle being located driving northbound on Highway 11. The Regina Police Service contacted RCMP and an RCMP officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the highway. The driver of the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle continued to travel at a low speed, and about 10 minutes later, the driver of the vehicle pulled over. The vehicle was confirmed stolen, and a search incident to arrest revealed stolen property inside the vehicle. As a result:
