On the evening of January 7, 2020, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Rae Street for a report of a home invasion where a person was shot. Six suspects, one armed with a firearm, reportedly forced their way into a residence and discharged a firearm. The suspects fled the scene before the incident was reported to police.
On Tuesday January 7, 2020, at approximately 8:55 p.m., police were dispatched to the 900 block of Rae Street for a report of a home invasion. Six suspects who had their faces covered with bandanas reportedly forced their way into a residence. One of the suspects was armed with a firearm and discharged it at one of the occupants of the residence.
Police attended to the scene and located a twenty-nine year-old male who had sustained an injury to his leg consistent with a gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to hospital for injuries described as minor and non-life-threatening.
Police conducted an area search for the suspects, but were unable to locate any of the persons involved.
Police are continuing their investigation into the home invasion and weapons offence. As this investigation remains ongoing, further information cannot be released at this time.
