The death investigation, which began Saturday January 25, 2020, by the Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is now continuing as a homicide investigation: the third homicide in Regina in 2020. The victim is an adult male who was found unresponsive and critically injured in the 1200 block of Rae Street. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Rae Street at approximately 7:37 p.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2020, for a report of a gunshot fired and an injured person at the scene. Police arrived and discovered an unresponsive male in front of a residence in the area. EMS attended and pronounced the male deceased at the scene. Officers continued to maintain security of the scene and requested additional resources, including the Coroner.
The deceased person has been identified and his next-of-kin have been notified. The victim is 24 year-old Isiah Trent ALLARY, of Regina.
In relation to this incident, 25 year-old Devon Wayne CYR, of Regina, is charged with the following offences:
– First Degree Murder [235(1) CC];
– Two counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (Firearm) [117.01(1) CC]; and
– Fail to Comply with a Prohibition Order [733.1(1) CC].
Devon Wayne CYR will make his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2019.
