On Saturday, January 4, 2020 at approximately 6:10 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue to locate a male who was wanted on numerous firearm related charges.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed the male was inside the business, and he was said to be accompanied by two other males. Officers entered the business and proceeded to arrest 25 year-old Dillon WHITEHAWK. During the course of that arrest, a second male, reached for a concealed bladed weapon on his person. Officers arrested this male, now known as 27 year-old Joshua BADGER. A search incident to arrest revealed he was also in possession of ammunition. A third male, a youth, was also arrested. As a result:
Twenty five year-old Dillon Ricky WHITEHAWK is facing charges of:
- Possession Of A Weapon [CC 88];
- Careless Use Of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [CC 86(1)];
- Possession Of A Firearm Knowing It’s Possession Is Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Possession Of Prohibited/Restricted Weapon Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92(2)];
- Possession Of A Prohibited Or Restricted Firearm With Ammunition [CC 95(1)(a)];
- Possession Of A Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime [CC 96(1)];
- Possession Of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)]; and
- 2 X Fail To Comply With Condition Of A Release Order [CC 145 (5)(a)].
Twenty seven year-old Joshua Franklin BADGER is facing charges of:
- Carrying A Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Assault A Peace Officer With A Weapon [CC 270.01 (1)(a)];
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1)]; and
- Fail To Comply With Condition Of A Release Order [CC 145 (5)(a)].
A 17 year-old male, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing charges of:
- Obstruct Peace Officer [CC 129 (a)]; and
- Fail To Comply With Condition Of A Release Order [CC 145 (5)(a)].
Both WHITEHAWK and BADGER made their first court appearance on the charges in Provincial Court on January 6th, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
