A 20 year-old male is facing Weapons, Break and Enter and Breach charges after an investigation into a suspicious person incident.
This investigation began when police were dispatched just after midnight on Thursday February 6, 2020 for a report of a suspicious person at a car dealership in the 700 block Broad Street. The fresh snow assisted officers, who followed a solitary set of footprints which indicated someone had walked up to the doors of several businesses before moving eastbound. A male was located in an alley just north of 3rd Avenue North. An officer approached him and found him to be in possession of a large machete and a folding knife. Further investigation indicated the male was also the subject of outstanding warrants. Officers also recovered a gas card, believed to have been stolen in a Break and Enter earlier in the night. The male was subsequently charged.
