A 16 year old male, 15 year old female, and a 14 year old male are facing charges of assault with a weapon, theft, and possession after an incident early Monday morning.
On Monday February 17, 2019, at approximately 1:10 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of 2800 block Abbott Road for a report of a weapons offence. The complainant stated that he confronted three youth breaking into his vehicle outside his home and was then threatened with an edged weapon. The complainant retreated and the youth fled on foot.
Police attended to the area and with the assistance of the Canine unit were able to locate and safely apprehend all three subjects a short distance away. An edged weapon was located in the possession of one of the subjects as well were property items belonging to the complainant. Fortunately no one suffered any physical injury from this incident.
The charged youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will appear in Provincial Youth Court on March 26, 2020 on the charges associated to this occurrence.
