A 16 year-old Regina male has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident in which a number of airsoft guns and other items were stolen.
On January 21, at about 4:15 a.m., a business in the 2100 block of 7th Avenue was broken into by suspect(s) breaking the glass front door of the store. The suspect(s) stole airsoft guns and other miscellaneous items. Continued investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Crimes Unit resulted in a search warrant being granted, On February 20, 2020, for a residence in the 1000 block of Edgar Street. Inside the residence, an airsoft pistol with the same serial number as one stolen from the January 21st Break & Enter, was found. A male youth was found hiding in the house and initially arrested on an outstanding breach. He was subsequently charged for Possession of Stolen Property.
The 16 year-old cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is facing three charges:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and
- 2 x Fail to Comply with Disposition.
The youth made his first court appearance on these charges in Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020.
