The Regina Police Service is asking for information from the public that may assist in the investigation of a robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon.
Police were dispatched at about 4:15 p.m., on Tuesday February 4, 2020, to the 1800 block of Hamilton Street. Information received in the call for service indicated that the victim was walking south on the 1800 block of Hamilton Street when she was approached from behind by a by a male suspect. She had her purse over her shoulder. The suspect grabbed onto the purse breaking the straps and knocking the victim to the ground. The suspect fled on foot and was last seen running north bound in the alley between Hamilton Street and Rose Street. EMS attended and transported the victim to hospital for minor injuries. Attempts to locate the suspect in the area were negative. At this time, police are gathering any available information that may help identify the suspect.
The male suspect was described as 5’ 8” tall and a heavier build. He was wearing a black and white hoodie with the hood pulled up and blue jeans.
