An adult female has been charged after a hit and run involving a pedestrian on Friday.
On February 28, 2020 at approximately 4:20 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of College Avenue and Elphinstone Street.
Early investigation revealed that a 93 year-old female was walking eastbound across Elphinstone Street at the College Avenue intersection, at a fully marked pedestrian crossing, when she was struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle was travelling westbound on College Avenue and turned left onto Elphinstone Street when the incident occurred. The vehicle failed to stop and continued southbound on Elphinstone Street.
The victim was transported to hospital by EMS with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Regina Police Service has identified the driver of the vehicle. As a result, 31 year-old Jessica Michelle WEBER of Regina is charged with:
- Failure To Stop After Accident That Results In Bodily Harm [CC 320.16 (2)].
WEBER will make her first court appearance on the charges in Provincial Court on April 14, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
