On Sunday, March 8, 2020 at approximately 11:55 p.m., police were dispatched to Fulton Drive for a report of a break and enter to a garage. The victim alleged he was threatened with a weapon by the suspect. Patrol members were assisted by the K9 Unit who conducted a track in the area, which yielded negative results.
Police were dispatched to a second call at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 for a report of a male attempting to gain entry into a garage in the 7200 block of Neatby Avenue. Members of the K9 Unit conducted a second track from this address, which successfully led police to locate a male in a nearby yard on the 7200 block of Clipsham Avenue. An edged weapon was also located in the area.
A 17 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Assault With a Weapon [CC 267 (A)];
- Break And Enter With Intent [CC 348 (1)(A)];
- Mischief Under $5000 [CC 430 (4)];
- 3 X Failure To Comply With Condition of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)].
The youth made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 2 p.m.
