The Regina Police Service Major Crimes section, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is investigating the discovery of a deceased person yesterday (April 23rd) as a homicide. The deceased male was found in a residence in the 1000 block of Princess Street. This is the sixth homicide in Regina in 2020.
On Thursday, April 23, 2020, at approximately 12:40 p.m., police units were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Princess Street. The initial dispatch was categorized as an injured or sick person. Police arrived and located a male, who appeared to be deceased. EMS arrived and confirmed the death. Patrol members secured the scene, as other investigative units and the Coroner were requested. The identity of the deceased has been confirmed, but the name of the deceased person will not be released at this time. The Coroner ordered an autopsy, which was performed today. There are a number of investigative tasks being carried out, but there are no other details available for release to the public at this time.
