Three males – one youth and two adults – are facing weapons and theft-related charges after an incident on Thursday night.
On Thursday, April 16, 2020 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Regina Police Service Stolen Auto unit identified a stolen vehicle travelling in North Central Regina. Police confirmed multiple occupants were inside the vehicle. A tire deflation device (spike belt) was deployed in the alley on the 800 block of Rae Street. The driver of the vehicle continued to drive erratically in an attempt to flee from police, until the vehicle came to a stop in the 700 block of Robinson Street. The three occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. Police located one of the males immediately. A search incident to arrest revealed the male was in possession of two knives. As a result:
25 year-old William Scott DESNOMIE, of the Balcarres District, is charged with:
- 2 X Carrying A Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
- Fail To Comply With Condition Of A Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)].
Meanwhile, a member of the K9 Unit conducted a track on the additional suspects. The track led to a residence on the 700 block of Rae Street. Police located two males inside the residence. One of the males, a youth, was found to be in possession of a firearm. As a result:
A 16 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession Of A Firearm [CC 91 (1)];
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)]; and
- Fail To Comply With Disposition [YCJA 137].
21 year-old Kwneil Nikeila WHITEHAWK, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000 [CC 355 (A)].
DESNOMIE and WHITEHAWK will make their first appearances on these charges in Provincial Court today, Friday, April 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
The male youth will make his first court appearance on his charges in Provincial Youth Court today, Friday, April 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
